ACOUSTIC CONTROL LABORATORIES (ACL) AB

Acoustic Control AB (http://www.acoustic.se) is one of the leading sound and vibration consultants in Sweden, operating for more than 10 years at its office and laboratory facilities in Stockholm/Täby, Sweden. The staff currently comprises 11 persons. Acoustic Control AB offer services regarding road and rail traffic noise, noise from industries, building acoustics, room acoustical design, Operational Modal Analysis, tyre/road noise research (we invented the poroelastic road surface concept which gives >12 dB in noise reduction). As one of the very few consultants in Sweden, we built our own complete in-house sound laboratory comprising a semi-anechoic room, a reverberation room and a general test hall.

In the assignments work to assist clients, we are making use of our extensive computer calculation and measurement capabilities like, CadnaA for environmental noise calculations (road, rail and air traffic noise etc.), Brüel&Kjaer multichannel system Pulse 12+7 channels; RayNoise for room acoustical ray-tracing calculations, VisiSEAM for calculation of structure borne sound transmission using Statistical Energy Analysis, FEM calculations with aid of FEMLAB. For CadnaA and VisiSEAM/3DSEAM we are also Scandinavian distributors. As participants in standardization committees in the acoustical fields we ensure that we are carefully updated and being at the technical frontlines on standards and guidelines.

As partners in the EU-projects SQUEAL and CORRUGATION we have developed new innovative techniques for squeal noise reduction and wear prevention.

Acoustic Control will act as co-ordinator for the Qcityproject as well as Sub-Project- (SP) and Work Package (WP) leader. Persons participating in the Qcityproject:
- N-Å Nilsson: general manager, principal consultant; Coordinator of the QcityProject
- Odd Sylwan: senior consultant; specialist in railway technology
- Henrik Malker: Project Consultant Manager, Screen design.
- Patrik Ragnarsson: Consultant Project Manager; calculations on wheel/rail interaction
- Åsa Stenman: Consultant Project Manager; Noise mapping
